Spring finally arrived on Rowan University’s campus this past Monday, April 23. Residents of Rowan Boulevard Apartments were treated to free food, tie-dyed t-shirts, and a giant bounce house by their resident assistants (RA) at an outdoor celebration called RoBofest in the courtyard of Rowan Boulevard Apartments.
Junior law and justice major and RA Alyssa Cross was one of the attendees.
“I like giving back to the residents and everything and helping them have fun before finals,” Cross said. “We spent two weeks planning and got feedback from different residents [to] see what they would like and asked them what would make them come out.”
Hotdogs and hamburgers were cooked by a group of students including Rbrey Singleton. Singleton is a junior political science major, as well as an RA in the Rowan Boulevard Apartments.
“Cooking out is really important in the Singleton family, and it is one of my favorite things to do with my dad in the summertime,” Singleton said. “I think the best part was seeing students from all over campus stop by and hang out with us. As we all know, the last few weeks of the semester can be rough, so it was good to see students taking a break and enjoying themselves for a bit.”
Residential Director Diamond Bolden also made an appearance and talked with her residents and RAs. Tied-dye t-shirts were laid across the grass to dry next to the tie-dye table, which a lot of students flocked to. Students were excited they were finally able to enjoy the warm weather after the brutally cold winter and the beginning of spring. Some students even took advantage of the extra-large bounce house placed in the middle of the courtyard.
