Have you ever come home too tired to wash your face before bed? Or wake up in a big rush with barely enough time to get out the house, much less wash your face thoroughly? I can’t be the only one who answered “Yes” with a capital Y!

Our face is one of the parts of the body that requires the most upkeep; throughout the day it is exposed to countless pollutants in the air, dirt and grime from the environment and natural oils our skin produces.  As a result, it requires consistent deep-cleansing to maintain moisturized, smooth skin. But somehow, the face is one of the most neglected parts of the body — perhaps partially because using the recommended face washes, creams and scrubs takes so much time that most people just don’t have.

My facial skin is very sensitive, so I am hesitant in trying new products that go directly on my face, which can cause a breakout or rash — one of my worst nightmares. However, I know that I need a product in my regular beauty regime to hydrate and rejuvenate my skin.

I headed to my local CVS Pharmacy to see what products they offered that could help me in my quest for better skin care. I prefer to do all my cleansing and preparation at night so that I can concentrate on other important duties in the morning, like getting those extra five or 10 minutes of sleep after hitting the snooze button. So I decided to start with a facial mask that could be used during the evening and give me the deep cleansing I was looking for.

After browsing the skin care aisle for 30 minutes, my eye was drawn to the colorful packaging of CVS Honeydew and Chamomile Overnight Cream Facial Mask. Other than the fact that its colorful packet instantly caught my attention, I also noticed that it contained coconut oil, which I have found works great on my hair. And at only a $1.99, I thought it was worth a shot.

CVS brand overnight cream facial masks in avocado oatmeal, charcoal and black sugar, dead sea minerals, honeydew and chamomile and cucumber scents.

That evening, I washed all of my makeup off and applied the mask. Right away, I noticed the smell. The sweet smell of honeydew made me reminiscent of warmer months, and if I hadn’t known better, I would’ve been tempted to eat it based on its smell alone. I only ended up using half the packet, as it was enough to cover my whole face with plenty to spare for another use.

Within a matter of minutes, I felt a cool tingling in my skin, similar to what I feel when I put  Dr. Miracle’s Hot Gro Hair and Scalp Treatment in my hair several times a year. After about 15 minutes, the cream was less visible and had absorbed into my pores.

I noticed that my face felt a little more nourished, and definitely soft, after rinsing the mask off. I continued using the remainder of the packet over the next couple of days and I have to admit, by the third time I used this product, my face did have the ‘dewy glow’ it promotes. I was especially surprised with the successful results from a non-name brand product.

This product did exactly what it claimed to do — provided hydration and rejuvenation to my skin — with the added bonus of a great scent and and a low price. I highly recommend this overnight facial mask if you are looking for a deep  moisturizer that takes less than 15 minutes to apply.

CVS offers five different packets of masks, each for a different skin type and need. They come scented in charcoal and black sugar, honeydew and chamomile, cucumber, avocado oatmeal and Dead Sea minerals. Each mask also has an accompanying facial scrub in matching scents.
