"While I’ve only known Rianna for a few short months, my time with her has been nothing short of beautiful." - Productions Editor / Katie Thorn
The Whit is suffering a tragic loss, as senior Rianna Moses, the Whit’s Copy Desk Chief, is officially graduating. In just a few short days, Moses will walk across the stage, receiving her bachelor’s degree in journalism and her minor in communication studies.
Moses’ time at Rowan has been filled with writing and creating and through her writing journey, she has made waves and set herself apart as a young, student journalist. Rianna Moses has not only written 13 articles for the Whit, but she has also interned for South Jersey Magazine.
Moses started her time at the Whit as a copy editor in April 2023, and aided in looking through articles and editing when needed. Her hard work and close eye as copy editor led her to a promotion, making her the Copy Desk Chief for her final semester at Rowan University.
Rianna’s skills go beyond writing and editing. From May 2023 to May 2024, Moses served as the Public Relations Chair for Rowan University’s South Asian Student Associations.
It is undeniable that Rianna Moses has worked hard and set herself apart during her time as a Prof, but she didn’t spend all four years on the Glassboro campus. As a young 20-year-old, Rianna spent her first semester of her senior year in London. Studying fashion media and communications at the London College of Fashion, University Arts of London, Moses has immersed herself in fashion journalism and did what many young adults couldn’t.
While I’ve only known Rianna for a few short months, my time with her has been nothing short of beautiful. Being around her is bound to put a smile on my face and is something that is simply irreplaceable.
Whit Wednesdays will not be the same without her hilarious remarks, silly attitude, calm presence and amazing outfits. I will greatly miss bonding over our love for Chiptole and bouncing off of each other’s goofy jokes that eventually send us into a spiral of laughs.
Now here is what I have to say to our amazing Copy Desk Chief; Rianna, you will truly be missed. It has been a blessing to know you and I am so lucky to call you a friend. Your presence in Bozorth 108 will be missed but I am endlessly proud of you and what you have accomplished. You may be a few states away in Maryland, but I know that you will be killing it and continuing to make strides in the journalism field. I am so proud of you, Rianna.
