Bella Moore enters her junior year having played for a different collegiate program for three consecutive seasons, and she’s now moments away from facing her former squad.
This is only a glimpse of the path the Rowan women’s soccer forward has traveled. Moore transferred from Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) this year and has already made her mark for the Profs. She recently received New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring a hat trick in last Saturday’s 9-0 win over the Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders. That game opened NJAC play for the team this season.
“It obviously wasn’t just me; the whole team had a really good game,” Moore said. “I think the energy was super good, and that’s why it happened.”
Since making her Rowan debut against Albright, Moore has scored four times and assisted once, all while appearing in every match thus far. The 6-1 Profs now enter another week of NJAC matches, taking on New Jersey City University (NJCU) midweek to finish their four-game stretch of road games.
While every NJAC fixture holds great importance toward Rowan’s future goals, this upcoming game means more for the junior transfer, who played for NJCU during her freshman year.
As a Gothic Knight, Moore put three into the net with two assists and made 20 appearances, playing twice against the Profs in green and gold colors. She makes her highly anticipated return to Jersey City, New Jersey, this week.
“I think it’s going to be kind of crazy, to be honest, but I am super excited,” Moore said. “I get to see a lot of the girls I used to play with, and I am sure we’ll do great.”
Following her short stint at NJCU, Moore starred with the Rowan College Roadrunners as a sophomore, accumulating 31 goals and eight assists in just 18 games.
This past offseason, Moore’s talent and Rowan women’s soccer’s need to bolster a threatening attack became a perfect match. Now halfway into her first season as a Prof, it is safe to say that Moore has found a home in Glassboro.
“In the beginning, I felt like it was [difficult] coming in because I wasn’t here in the spring, but getting to know everyone has been awesome,” Moore said. “You get to know how everybody works … It’s really good.”
