Rowan student has died

Ryan Archer, a 21-year-old computer science major from Middleton, N.J., died suddenly this past Saturday, according to an email sent to students from the dean’s office.  While at the university, Archer was also working towards a minor in mathematics and was a member of the Physics Club.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the John Day Funeral Home in Red Bank, N.J. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Ryan Archer Scholarship Fund at Rowan University Foundation, Shpeen Hall, 201 Mullica Hill Rd., Glassboro, N.J..

The email urged anyone in the university community having difficulty with this news to call the wellness center at 856-256-4222 or 856-256-4333 during regular business hours, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Wednesdays 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Counselors can be reached after hours by calling public safety.

The email also urged students to keep the Archer family in their thoughts and prayers.
