Manuel DelaRosa Jr., 26, and Shantal Farrow, 36, were found shot to death inside their home on Warwick Avenue in Glassboro on Aug. 19.
Both victims had a history with Rowan University. DelaRosa graduated in 2017 and Farrow worked for Gourmet Dining.
According to the GoFundMe page for Farrow’s memorial service, “[Shantal] was known for his goofiness and welcoming heart. Working at the cafe at Rowan University he acquired a wide range of friends! He was always seen with a smile on his face and making funny jokes. Those in his close circle can attest to his beautiful persona and illuminating personality.”
According to police, three of the suspects are Devon J. Conover and Abdelgadi H. Hassan, two 19-year-olds from Trenton, and Daniel P. Hall, 23, of Teaneck. They are all facing two counts each of murder, felony murder, conspiracy to commit murder, robbery, and weapons offenses.
According to police, the fourth suspect, 23-year-old Altaifjoe H. Hassan of Glassboro, Hassan’s brother and a former Rowan student, is charged with conspiracy to commit murder and robbery.
Altaifjoe made local headlines back in October 2018 when Glassboro police officers pulled out assault weapons on him and another student in the Magnolia parking lot on campus.
This incident resulted in two separate civil rights lawsuits against the police department and a prevalent discussion on racial profiling.
Joe Cardona, the vice president for university relations and university spokesperson, confirmed Altaifjoe was the same individual involved in the 2018 incident.
According to police, cellphone data and street footage were crucial in linking the suspects to the murder. Police believe the killings are a “botched robbery” involving cash and marijuana.
