Two students were robbed outside of Bozorth Hall on Rowan University’s campus at 1 a.m. on Sunday, according to Rowan Police.
The students were approached by “a college-aged black male wearing a dark red hooded sweatshirt, with the hood over its head, black sweatpants, black and white sneakers and displayed a handgun,” according to the Timely Warning report. The suspect then proceeded to steal the students’ cell phones and flee the scene in a car.
The car was described as a four-door grey or silver sedan and traveled westbound towards Triad Apartments.
The suspect was arrested after being identified and Rowan students were notified through the Timely Warning service provided by Rowan Police.
Rowan Police would like to remind students to always walk in groups in well-lit areas, keep their belongings close to their persons, report suspicious activity and, in an, emergency call 911 or 856-256-4911.

I got a ticket for parking in the parking garage because my class got out at 9:30 and I don’t feel safe walking across campus by myself at night. The guy who gave me my ticket then told me I had to walk to the main garage BY MYSELF to pay for my ticket while he took a golf cart there. I complained so many times about parking situations and asked how I can resolve this issue and never got any responses…just tickets. I loved my time at Rowan University, but it NEEDS to make student’s safety their #1 priority.
