In 2019, Rowan Boulevard will get three new storefronts, Hollywood Tans, Lascala’s Fire and Dawn to Dusk.
Hollywood Tans is the newest edition to Rowan Boulevard with their grand opening on Jan. 25. Located at 104 Rowan Boulevard, right across from the Park Place North apartments, it is the first business built underneath the new Victoria apartment buildings.
Open everyday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. this state of the art tanning salon is the perfect place to get a hint of that summer glow during this dreary, snowy winter.
LaScala’s Fire has been in the construction phase for some time now, but upon closer inspection, tables are being set out, making it seem like it will be finished soon, hopefully.
Opening right next to Six Pack Training on Rowan Boulevard and across the street from the Inspira, this restaurant will bring a homey, Italian feel to the Boro. LaScala’s Fire is a chain restaurant, with another location in Marlton NJ.
Serving both lunch and dinner, this Italian restaurant is more upscale with their wood fired pizza options, paninis and truffle Mac and cheese.
Featuring truffles in a majority of their dishes, LaScala’s Fire offers a Wild Mushroom Truffle Pizza that has wild mushrooms, caramelized onions, asiago cheese and ricotta cheese. The uniqueness of the pizza is what makes it so good although a little costly at $15, but definitely worth it. But not everything is out of the ordinary, they offer regular dishes such as Chicken Parmigiana and Margherita pizza.
At the beginning of the spring semester, there were sights of activity right next to 114 Victoria St. Looking further into the construction, another restaurant is being built!
Dawn to Dusk Cafe will be located right on the corner of Rowan Boulevard and Victoria St. across from the Barnes and Nobles. This cafe gives the option of all day breakfast, a fry station and a ton of sandwich options. One that stuck out the most was the Jersey Girl which is a Chicken cutlet sandwich with roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella and balsamic vinaigrette on a toasted baguette.
Offering items to meet the ideal college students needs, this restaurant will bring in herds of students on Saturday and Sunday mornings. There all day breakfast offers signature dishes like eggs Benedict or buttermilk waffles. But they also offer unique options like the Lox Platter consisting of smoked salmon, cucumber, lettuce, tomato, red onion and capers on a bagel with cream cheese. At only $10.95, this breakfast meal is decently priced for the loaded meal that is given.
Rowan University is always expanding and building, it may seem that every other day there is something new being built. It may seem daunting with all the construction but there is good coming from those changes. Restaurants are being made, stores are thriving, there is more opportunities for things to do while on campus.
No more sitting in your dorm room on a Saturday wondering what in the world you are going to do for the day. Now there are options.
