LaScala’s Fire celebrated the grand opening of its Rowan Boulevard location on March 5.
It’s located at 112 Rowan Boulevard, but students and the Glassboro community can also call in at 856-863-5500.
Rob LaScala, owner of LaScala’s, has a son who is a Rowan student and thought the campus-adjacent location was a great spot to implement his expanding business ventures.
The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Mondays through Wednesdays, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursdays through Fridays, and 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Sundays. It’s open to the public and students. Rowan bucks and dining dollars are accepted as forms of payment.
General manager Joe Balcom has been working at LaScala’s for a little over a year now, originally at the Marlton location, before transferring to Glassboro.
“We set some goals for ourselves and hopefully we will be able to meet those goals,” Balcom says.
In addition to a dining area, where people can sit, relax, and enjoy a nice meal, LaScala’s also has a pizza area and a takeout option.
“It’s a perfect spot for Rowan students to come and eat, and it’s a nice change from what they usually get with meal plan options,” Balcom added.
