This Saturday UFC 266 will be taking place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This pay-per-view event will consist of two title fights and one of the biggest returns the UFC has seen in years.
Nick “Diablo” Diaz, the older brother of MMA mega star Nate Diaz and the true general of the Diaz army, returns to fight legendary veteran Robbie “Ruthless” Lawler in a three round middleweight bout. This comes after Diaz’s five year suspension for his marijuana use.
For everyone out there who doesn’t know Nick but loves Nate, get ready for another Stockton slapper to fall in love with. There is nobody more true to who they are than these two brothers. This fight is sure going to bring back some amazing memories for the long time MMA community fan base.
After that bout comes the co-main event of the evening between one of the undoubtedly greatest women fighters to ever step foot on this planet. The current Women’s Flyweight Champion Valentina “Bullet” Shevchenko.
The dancer, model, GWOAT will be facing UFC long timer Lauren “Lucky” Murphy in a five round championship bout. Murphy will be the underdog in the fight and that is no different to every other opponent who has ever stepped into the octagon with Valentina Shevchenko since her move down to flyweight.
Opponents for the champ are such underdogs against her that for this fight BetMGM has the betting odds at a whopping -1600 for Shevchenko and a +850 for the challenger Lauren Murphy. So if you want to make an easy $100 all you would have to do is place a $1,600 bet on the champ.
Yes, she is that dominant.
Lastly, to end the night the Featherweight Champion Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski will defend his belt for the second time in his reign against Brian “T-City” Ortega in the Main Event.
These two fighters were bound to meet up in the octagon at some point in their careers and now after they coached the UFC’s hit tv show The Ultimate Fighter, the fans are finally getting to see the fireworks of this match. This rivalry started off quite friendly but the tensions have definitely been raised after the show has ended.
Each coach has said some harsh words towards one another and now you can say that these two are no longer good acquaintances. The anger and danger will be brought by each of these fighters with bad intentions from the opening bell to the final seconds.
Volkanovski and Ortega will definitely be a big part of the future of this division for a really long time, but only one can be the king of the featherweight division after this Saturday night.
