Tensions were high as rallies were held for both incumbent Governor Phil Murphy and Challenger Jack Ciattarelli. The rallies were held outside of Rowan University’s Wilson Music Hall, where the debate was happening inside. Supporters held signs, waved flags and chanted. At one point, both rallies came within just feet of each other as the candidates began to arrive. Election day was on Nov. 2 and New Jerseyans were able to vote in person, by mail or by voting early.
