1830’s All Hallows’ Eve Celebration: Have you ever wanted to experience what life was like in the 19th century? Well here’s your chance. Join other villagers on Oct. 29 at The Historic Village at Allaire in Wall Township, NJ as they come together to learn the history of Halloween and explore the traditions behind it. Artistically inclined visitors can put them to the test and participate in the “Allaire Scare Pumpkin Dare.” Contestants will be judged in a “scare” category and win a trophy as well as a gift bag! Interested parties must purchase a ticket and bring their carved pumpkin on the day of the festival. Annual Amazing Pumpkin Carve: Calling all pumpkin lovers! Pumpkin carving enthusiasts will love this four-day event featuring 35 colossal 125-pound pumpkins carved electricity by local artists. Visitors have the option of driving through the showcased pumpkins or walking through and enjoying a fun afternoon of food and entertainment. The event will also feature multiple fire pits, s’mores snack on, and ghoulie stories. The event runs from Oct. 12 – Oct. 16 at Woolsey Park in Hopewell Township, New Jersey. Sunflower Festival: With the fall sun shining among the different color leaves and flowers, one cannot help but to admire such beauty and feel a touch of happiness. Here’s your chance to experience all the floral beauty fall has to offer. Holland Ridge Farms, located in Cream Ridge, NJ, will be hosting the Sunflower Festival from Sept. 23 through the end of October. This farm is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, including weekends. Visitors will be able to walk through the tall towers of sunflower fields and visit the barns to view and feed animals. For those interested in creating their own garden back at home, Holland Farms also gives guests a chance to speak to their personal Pollinator to receive advice on how to create the perfect fall field. Happy Day Farm: Big on corn mazes, paintball, fun slides and more? Take a trip down to Manalapan to visit Happy Day Farm! Starting from Sept. 10 to Oct. 30, weekend visitors have the chance to experience a variety of fall festivities and attractions like tractor rides and paddle carts. Great Pumpkin Festival: Looking to live out your Halloweentown High carnival experience? Then come on down to visit the Great Pumpkin Festival located on Heaven Hill Farm in Vernon, NJ. Enjoy activities ranging from pumpkin picking, pig races, “boo barns”, and, of course, traditional hayrides. Guests also have the chance to ride on some carnival rides and enjoy some delicious funnel cakes. The festival runs till Nov. 6, Wednesday through Friday.
