It’s about that time of the year when the sun is starting to peep out and the perfect glowing tan is desired.
I was blessed to be born with a naturally tan skin tone, but as blessed as I am, I still desire to have that “Jesus Glow.”
You know the glow I am talking about. It is the one which radiates and illuminates off of someone’s skin that makes the person look so intriguing and naturally bronzed and golden, no matter how light or dark your skin tone is.
Almost four years ago, I found the ‘perfect’ bronzing cream, but used the product so much that its label peeled off and I never found out what its true name was. Shortly after I fell in love with it and bought enough to last several months, all of the beauty supply stores where I had originally purchased the cream said it had been discontinued.
I was so livid. I Google searched every keyword I could think which had to do with the cream and after no success, I gave up.
As I was on Amazon.com doing some online shopping, I saw it. The cream that I had been searching for. It’s called Ruby Kisses All Over Glow Bronzing Cream, but it was almost seven times more than what I remember paying for it originally. Additionally, only three were available from the seller. Through further investigation, I realized the cream was discontinued, so these final three were it.
Nevertheless, I thought there would surely be a cheaper alternative in their product line. Thank God there is one.
Ruby Kisses All Over Glow Bronzing Powder is available in four different colors which accommodate all complexion types for $4.99 at Sunpay Beauty Supply on East High Street, near the main campus of Rowan.
The bronzing powder Light Glow is great for those who have fair or pale skin tones, while Flushed Glow is for those who have olive skin. Bronze Glow is for those with a more caramel-brown complexion, while Deep Glow is for those of a darker complexion.
The bronzing powder can be used all over as its name says. However, it does not come with a swab to use. But I personally found that my hands made it easier to apply; surprising, but very effective.
The powder can be mixed or combined with a foundation or simply act on its own, as it glides very smoothly on skin. On the contrary, unlike the cream, the powder is a bit glittery, which is so not part of a “Jesus Glow.” However, mixing in a foundation seemed more preferable to me and lasts longer during those nights out on the town.
