After a wild slate of upsets in Week 6, “Shop and Drop with Rob” is back, giving you advice on who to pick up and drop every week in your fantasy football league.
Waiver Wire additions
Kenyan Drake – RB – Baltimore Ravens – 5% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
Kenyan Drake had an excellent day on the ground, rushing for 119 yards and scoring a touchdown. Unfortunately for lead back J.K. Dobbins, his surgically repaired knee tightened up during Sunday’s game, leading to Drake receiving most of the carries. If Dobbins’ knee injury lingers, keep an eye out for Drake to have a nice role in this Ravens run first offense.
Marcus Mariota – QB – Atlanta Falcons – 14% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
Marcus Mariota has been sneaky good this season. Against a top-three San Francisco 49ers defense, the veteran quarterback threw for two passing touchdowns, rushed for a touchdown and had 50 yards on the ground. With Mariota playing at a high level, this Falcons offense has proven that they can hang around with any team in the league.
Chase Claypool – WR – Pittsburgh Steelers – 41% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
Chase Claypool was one of the main reasons Pittsburgh was able to pull off the upset against Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Claypool made some huge catches to seal the win, reeling in seven balls for 96 yards and a touchdown.
This Steelers wide receiver room is very crowded, but Claypool seems to have already formed a connection with rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett. Pickett did leave the game late with a concussion, but he is expected to be back very soon.
Robbie Anderson – WR – Arizona Cardinals – 46% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
On Sunday, Robbie Anderson was sent to the Carolina Panthers locker room midway through the contest against the Los Angeles Rams due to disputes with wide receiver coach Joe Daily. On Monday, Anderson was traded to the Arizona Cardinals.
In other news, Cardinals receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown left in a walking boot after the loss to Seattle Seahawks. Many believe this is a season-ending injury for Brown, which led to the Robbie Anderson trade, so look for Anderson to get involved in this struggling offense quickly.
DeAndre Hopkins returns to the Cardinals lineup this week after serving a six-game suspension. With Hopkins drawing much attention, Anderson should receive many opportunities in this passing offense.
Robert Tonyan – TE – Green Bay Packers – 42% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
It is the same story every single week. Solid tight ends are extremely hard to come by in the fantasy football world, but the 28-year-old Robert Tonyan had himself a nice day, hauling in ten catches for 90 yards. The Packers have been struggling the past few weeks, but look for Tonyan to be a reliable target for Rodgers moving forward.
Players to drop
Deon Jackson – RB – Indianapolis Colts
Deon Jackson had himself an exceptional day before straining his quad in the 34-27 win over Jacksonville. Although dropping 28 fantasy points, lead-back Jonathan Taylor and second-stringer Nyheim Hines should be returning next week, limiting Jackson’s presence moving forward.
Elijah Moore – WR – New York Jets
Elijah Moore was targeted zero times in the 27-10 win over Green Bay this past Sunday. Moore’s production increased towards the end of last season, but he has since not been able to get involved in this run-heavy Jets offense.
Zach Wilson – QB – New York Jets
Although the Jets keep winning under Zach Wilson, the second-year starter has little to no fantasy value. Through three weeks of play, Wilson has thrown for only one touchdown. The Jets running game has been extremely effective, hence limiting Wilson’s opportunities.
If you see some of these guys on your waiver wire, try and scoop them up. Although some players may not have a spot on your starting roster at the moment, injuries are bound to happen. When everyone else in your league is scrambling around looking for replacements, you’ll remember that you read “Shop and Drop with Rob”, and reinforcements are already sitting on your bench.
