With Week 7 of the NFL season coming to a close, “Shop or Drop” is back, giving you expert advice on who to pick up and drop every week in your fantasy football league.
Waiver Wire additions
Darrell Henderson Jr. – RB – Los Angeles Rams – 24% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
Halfback Darrell Henderson Jr. has returned to the Rams’ starting lineup after spending some time on the team’s practice squad. The familiar face rushed for 61 yards on 18 attempts while finding the end-zone in week seven. Henderson is no scrub, as he was the team’s leadback for most of the 2022 season. With Kyren Williams on the IR, Henderson Jr. appears to be the RB1 in Los Angeles for the time being.
Gardner Minshew – QB – Indianapolis Colts – 8% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
Gardner Minshew is back! Just when we thought Minshew Mania was over, we are getting another glimpse of his Jacksonville prime. Against an impressive Browns defense, the veteran quarterback threw for 305 yards, tossed two touchdowns, AND rushed for two touchdowns. Please, don’t be like me and leave this majestic man on your bench any longer.
Josh Downs – WR – Indianapolis Colts – 36% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
Josh Downs continued his impressive rookie campaign this past Sunday. He hauled in five balls on six targets for 125 yards and a touchdown. The third-round pick out of North Carolina outperformed WR1 Michael Pittman Jr., averaging 5.5 receptions in his last three games. With Minshew Mania in full effect, expect this production to continue.
Kyler Murray – QB – Arizona Cardinals – 42% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
Remember Kyler Murray? Well, the 2019 first-overall pick is set to make his return any week now. Although the Cardinals have exceeded their low expectations with Josh Dobbs, Murray has begun taking first-team reps during practice. When healthy, he’s been a consistent top-ten fantasy quarterback throughout his career. Murray should be rostered in all leagues by the time he returns to Arizona’s lineup.
Dalton Kincaid – TE – Buffalo Bills – 42% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
It was only fitting that Dalton Kincaid had a breakout game on National Tight Ends Day. The rookie reached his season-high in targets with eight, and he caught all eight passes thrown his way for 75 yards. It seems as if he is slowly taking over Dawson Knox’s role in this high-powered offense. Kincaid has the ability to become Josh Allen’s second option behind Stefon Diggs.
D’Onta Foreman – RB – Chicago Bears – 65% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
Although D’Onta Foreman had the best week out of anyone on this list, he is the last player I mention because Foreman is already rostered in 65% of leagues. So, this one goes out to the 35% of leagues who are ignoring Foreman’s crazy production. The NFL journeyman rushed for 89 yards on 16 attempts in week seven. He ran in two touchdowns and caught another for his third of the day. Even when Roschon Johnson returns from his concussion, expect Foreman to have some sort of involvement in the Bears’ offense.
Players to Drop
Tyler Higbee – TE – Los Angeles Rams
With Cooper Kupp returning to the lineup, Tyler Higbee has turned into a ghost. The veteran tight end is averaging 1.6 catches per game since week five. Stafford seems to only see Kupp and Puca Nacua on the field, meaning Higbee’s production has dropped off significantly.
Keaontay Ingram – RB – Arizona Cardinals
When James Conner got placed on injured reserve, most people assumed Keaontay Ingram would take over the backfield after being listed as the RB1 on Arizona’s depth chart. That seemed to be true when he led the team in carries just a week ago. It was not the case this week. The second-year back out of USC was benched for Emari Demercado. Zero touches means zero room for him on your bench.
Dawson Knox – TE – Buffalo Bills
With the emergence of rookie Dalton Kincaid, Dawson Knox is now forced to split playing time. Over his past four games, Knox has a mere eight catches. Just this past Sunday, Kincaid had eight catches. Clearly, Knox has lost the TE1 role in Buffalo.
If you see some of these guys on your waiver wire, try and scoop them up. Although some players may not have a spot in your starting lineup at the moment, injuries are bound to happen. When everyone else in your league is scrambling around looking for replacements, you will remember that you read “Shop or Drop,” and reinforcements are already sitting on your bench.
