Rohrer Fest is a community event of dedication to success filled with edible candy, sand art, and powdered funnel cakes. On Sept. 12, Rowan University’s William Rohrer School of Business hosted its annual Rohrer Fest with activities in commemoration of 52 years of professional growth and leadership opportunities provided to students.
This school property was named after Rohrer in 2005. This building serves as a creative venture for all young people as a guide to attract a high-achieving education all year round and presents business curriculums as a preparation overview of managerial standards. This building was dedicated to William G. Rohrer, a former mayor of Haddon Township. He provided his own financial support for this university. So, this festival was created because of his hard work in remembrance of him.
For nearly three hours, students and employees attended a relaxing outdoor experience outside the school of business in the blazing sun filled with dazzling activities. These activities included the classic corn-hole tournament, inflatable obstacle course, one-shot arrow course, ice cream sundaes, and succulent golden fried Oreos. Lemonade and ice water leaked onto people’s hands as they consumed them quickly to cool down from the 87-degree weather.
Janiah Valenzuela, a freshman majoring in computer science at Rowan expressed her excitement about the carnival.
“I love it, everyone is so nice over here and there’s so many events to do,” Valenzuela said.
This festival was celebrating over 50 years of excellence which can be sought out through the minds of this community.
Anton Garcia, a junior majoring in environmental studies talked about how he wants to use his degree.
“I don’t know, make money and get paid,” said Garcia.
This event seemed to be a successful and enjoyable day for the students and staff in honor of William G. Rohrer.
