On Thursday, April 10, Rowan After Hours (RAH) and Student University Programmers (SUP) teamed up to host an event to promote this year’s Hollybash on the Hollybush Green. The event welcomed students and staff for an afternoon of fun, food, and festivities, offering a sneak peek of what’s to come on Friday, April 25.
The event was perfect for attendees to unwind and connect. Laughter and music filled the air as groups of individuals gathered outside of Hollybush.
A variety of activities were provided to anyone who attended. Attendees were able to race against their friends on an inflatable obstacle course. There was also a chance to win stuffed animals in classic carnival games like ring toss and bean bag toss. There were also yard games like corn hole and spikeball for attendees who wanted to participate in a more relaxed activity.
To further tease the main event, food trucks were also in attendance at the event, offering a range of options for everyone. Free refreshments like mocktails, chips, and water ice were provided by SUP and RAH.
Upon check-in, attendees were entered into a raffle to win exciting prizes. The Wellness Center also hosted a raffle at the event. They handed out free health kits, stress balls, and other wellness items at their table.
This promotional event helped individuals get excited about the main event happening next week. It created a space for students to take a break and build anticipation for Hollybash.
“It’s like a preview of what the main event will be, so I know I’ll want to be there,” said Iris Balencai, a sophomore biology major here at Rowan.
People appreciated the chance to relax while also getting excited about Hollybash. The mix of food, music, and games made it a memorable experience.
“I feel like not a lot of people at Rowan know about Holly Bash, so this is a good event to get people to come,” said Joana Aucay, a junior management information systems major here at Rowan. “It’s a good event for people to interact with other students.”
For some students who may not have been keeping up with the Hollybash news, this event offered an opportunity for students to decompress from the stressful semester they have been having.
“In my case, I have exams, and this is like a little break that I can take from my homework,” said Jose Sire, a sophomore biology major here at Rowan.
This event also created a space for attendees to reflect on what they are looking forward to the most for Hollybash. The excitement was clear among the crowd, and many will be returning for the main event.
“The food and the games. I like the games and the prizes,” said Sire.
Many students expressed similar opinions, emphasizing how Hollybash brings together a mix of entertainment that appeals to everyone, whether they’re there for the food, the games, or the music.
“I’m excited for the performers. There are a lot of students who showcase their music,” said Aucay. “Also, PaulyD is coming, so I’m pretty sure everyone’s amped up for that.”
Overall, the Hollybash promo event delivered an engaging experience that not only entertained but also successfully built enthusiasm for one of Rowan’s biggest campus events.
