Rowan’s men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams sent a combined 27 student-athletes to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship, held at the SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio.
The three-day long contest, held from Thursday, May 22, to Saturday, May 24, saw 20 participants from the men’s team and seven from the women’s. Both teams will return to Glassboro with 15 All-American nods in total.
Men’s outdoor track and field
The No. 6 ranked men’s team finished third in the nation at the Division III Championship. The win also comes on the backs of their tenth-straight New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) conference title.
Jamir Brown capped off his rookie year as a national champion. In a 1-2-7 finish for Rowan with his teammates Jason Agyemang (13.82) and Anais Hughes (14.71) following respectively, the freshman finished first in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 13.75.
Brown, the DIII record holder, became Rowan’s second national title holder in a row in the 110 meter hurdles with his win. In 2024, Kwaku Nkrumah won with a time of 13.77.
The 4×100 Relay of Shamar Love, Robert McKinney, Elijah Hendricks, and Evan Corcoran finished as runners-up to the national title and a school record with a 39.72 finish. They set the mark in the preliminary round on Thursday with a time of 39.97.

Leaving Ohio, the men’s team will return to Glassboro with 11 All-American honors, including Brown, Agyemang, and Hughes in the 110 meter hurdles and the 4×100 relay (Love, McKinney, Hendricks, Corcoran).
Rowan’s dominance in the hurdles events has earned the program the nickname “Hurdles U.” Men’s assistant coach Norm Tate says the team lives up to its name. Tate, who was also named the 2025 United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Coach of the Year, acknowledges the hard work the male athletes put in before the Championship started.
“This year has been really great for my group,” Tate said. “Our practice is like a war and it makes practice fun. It’s about pushing them to be their best.”
Women’s outdoor track and field
The No. 20 ranked women’s team tied for 38th place at the Division III Championship.
Nyla Jones finished fifth in the 400 meter hurdles to earn a First Team All-American nod. Her time of 1:01.46 improved upon her first in the preliminaries, where she finished with a time of 1:02.36.
Four Profs including Jones also received All-American honors. This includes Molly Lodge, who made Second Team for her showing in the 400 meter hurdles, and two for Izzy Deal.
Deal was named a First Team All-American for her performance in the shot put and Second Team for javelin. Deal, a graduate student, finished sixth in the shot put and 12th in the javelin.
