Real human stories occur every day. For college filmmaker Adam Reim, the goal is to ensure that these stories are told. What started as a passion in middle school turned into a career path, as Reim continues to pursue his passion with his newly founded production company, Evidence Films LLC.
“We are a full-service video production company that specializes in telling the story behind the story,” Reim said. “We like telling stories that pull back the curtain and show the raw truth and the human stories, whether it be behind brands, products, organizations, it could be anything.”
Adam Reim, 21, founded his production company, Evidence Films LLC, in June 2025. Although he’s picked up freelance gigs since high school, Reim now wants to showcase his goal of telling human stories in an actual company.
The name comes from one of Reim’s favorite songs, “Evidence” by jazz musician Thelonious Monk, but goes beyond an homage.
“I also think evidence is kind of this cool metaphor for art and films and documentary films, especially because it’s a way for us to kind of leave our mark on the world,” Reim said. “In 100 years, when we’re all gone, this evidence, these documentaries, these films, this art, it will still be here, and it’ll kind of be the evidence that we leave behind.”
Reim grew up in Sewell, New Jersey. In middle school, YouTuber Casey Neistat’s vlogs inspired Reim’s love for making videos and city life. Whether it be videos for health class or projects with friends, Reim chose to work hard and film his videos cinematically.
In high school, Reim attended Clearview Regional High School, where he joined the media team and continued working on different projects. “I Remember Someday,” Reim’s short film he wrote and directed, won the New Jersey High School (NJ-HS) 5 Day Film Challenge.
After high school, Reim pursued his filmmaking goal at Rowan, where he is now a senior. At Rowan, Reim frequently works on student films in a wide variety of roles, from cinematographer to writer to director.
As a senior, Reim hopes to not only continue his career after college but also inspire a new generation of filmmakers who are unsure of the filmmaking journey.
“You get out of film school what you put into it, so you can theoretically coast by your classes and get your degree,” Reim said, “but if you want to succeed, you should treat every class, every film class, every lecture class as an opportunity to grow as a filmmaker.”
Since June, Evidence Films LLC has worked with over 10 clients. Reim, the sole founder and member, leads subcontractors and freelancers to help him work with clients through the pre-production, production, and post-production process, whether they are creating a corporate video, narrative film, documentary, or promotional video.
“I get the most fulfillment out of being a leader and leading a team and kind of having that freedom of being the person in charge, and that’s kind of the goal,” Reim said. “The goal isn’t to make as much money as possible, in my eyes. It’s to tell important stories and tell clients’ stories, whether it be a creative, a musician, a client, anybody, just be a storyteller. In the end, that’s what I want to do.”
Reim does not force ideas. He often goes to Red Bank Battlefield Park in Deptford, New Jersey, to sit, listen to jazz, and wait for inspiration to come to him. He wrote most of his narrative short films at the park.
His process for documentary filmmaking is different. Whether it is weddings or jazz musicians, he wants events to unfold naturally, and prepares himself for whatever may occur when shooting, all towards the goal of showing authenticity.
For Reim, Evidence Films LLC is a way to showcase humanity. Each project is not just a job to be done, but a story to be told. Like the stories Reim tells, his journey of starting his company is a story itself, one that brings him closer to his dream.
