The Engineering Department at Rowan University held its annual Engineering Carnival outside Engineering Hall on Sept. 6. Many things were featured such as bouncy castles, a mechanical bull ride, free food, lively music, and club booths related to many different fields of engineering.
Luke Poppen, a freshman mechanical engineering major, attended the carnival with his friends.
“I came to explore the clubs and to check out and see what’s up. I also came for the fair, I just arrived and honestly, I can’t wait to see what clubs I’m interested in joining,” said Poppen.
The carnival was open to all majors and many people came due to certain interests. Carlos Diaz is a freshman majoring in finance. However, he is also interested in cars and the modification of cars.
“I didn’t come to join any clubs at first, but once I met with the Baja Club, they caught my eye and I might join them due to my passion for cars,” Diaz said.
The Baja Club designs and builds off-road vehicles that can survive the severe punishment of rough terrain and is open to everyone.
Freshman George Miranda, a mechanical engineering major, expressed how much he enjoyed the event.
“I loved the fair. The free food was awesome and I rode the mechanical bull, and lasted a long time. Overall, I had a great time and I’m really grateful for the Engineering Department putting this carnival together, for the different connections, and the long-lasting relationships that I made today,” Miranda said.
