With the start of the spring semester, the countdown to Rowan’s annual spring festival “Hollybash” is on. “Hollybash” is an event where Hollybush Green gets turned into a huge festival ground, with food trucks, carnival rides, and fun activities for Glassboro to enjoy.
The festival will take place on April 25, 2025. Various local performers will perform throughout the day, and when the sun goes down, a big celebrity artist will give a special performance just for Rowan. In the past, Hollybash has welcomed artists such as Tori Kelly, Noah Cyrus, and Andy Grammer. This year promises to deliver.
While the respective organizers, RAH and SUP, declined to comment about who the special performer could be, Rowan has begun to start speculating. Here are some predictions of who could headline Hollybash.
- Malcolm Todd – A 22-year-old indie alternative R&B artist from Santa Monica, California. His first mixtape, “Sweet Boy,” has over 50 million Spotify streams. His latest single, “I Love (Chest Pains),” has gone viral on TikTok. Todd is booking numerous college shows, and sophomore Emily O’Donnell believes Rowan University would be a great stop for him.
“I’ve known Malcolm Todd for a bit, and I think this would be a great fit for Rowan Students because his music is tailored toward college students,” said O’Donnell.
- Ellie Goulding – A veteran in the music industry, known for hits such as Burn and Lights, hailing from England, she has had multiple hits and is known for her nostalgic pop sound. Freshman Hannah Slimak would love to see the 2010s megastar.
“I want her to play her throwbacks, specifically Anything Could Happen,” said Slimak.
- Griff – Another rising star in the American pop music scene, Griff has made a huge name for herself in the UK music scene. With a sound similar to Gracie Abrams and last year’s headliner Tori Kelly. She is breaking out into the American music scene with her single “Last Nights Mascara,” Recently coming off opening for Sabrina Carpenter on her “Short N’ Sweet” World tour. Griff would bring an electrifying energy to the Hollybush mansion stage.
- NLE Choppa – NLE Choppa is no stranger to college tours, The Tennasee-born rapper has performed at Princeton University, and nearby Stockton Univerity in the past year. Choppa has yet to make a stop in Glassboro. Known for his hits “Walk Em Down (Feat Roddy Rich),” and “Camelot.” To say students would love to have him is an understatement.
“I’d be thrilled. I love his music. I’ve been listening to him since like middle school,” said freshman Stacy Daniel-Wilson.
- Flo Milli – Also no stranger to performing at different universities, Milli has had shows at John Hopkins, and Florida State. Milli is known for her confident, and fun tracks like “Never Lose Me” and “Beef FloMix.” Flo Milli would bring a huge amount of fun and confidence to The Boro, and Rowan students agree.
“If Flo Milli comes to Hollybash I would love to hear Never Lose Me, that song eats literally every time,” said Freshman Ashley Salcedo.
These are just some predictions that could work for this year’s festival, no matter who is gonna be taking that stage on April 25. Rowan students and the community of Glassboro are still in for one of the most unforgettable nights of the year.
