Lisella retires with school record for wins, will focus on administrative duties

Gabby Lisella, head women’s basketball coach, retires to focus on administration role, Rowan Athletics reports.

After 19 years of coaching at Rowan, Lisella will step down to be more committed to her position as associate athletic director for interval operation for the school.

In her tenure as a Prof, she claimed the school record for most wins, coached the 2015-2016 team to a 25-6 capped with an appearance in the second round of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament and has produced 30 All New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) athletes, as well as six All-American athletes.

She was named D3hopps’ Atlantic Region Coach of the Year.

Before coming to Rowan, the East Stroudsburg University graduate served interim head coach for St. Lawrence University for a year, as the assistant athletic director at Oswego State in New York for five years and as head coach at University of the South in Tennessee for four years.
