Meet the Staff Writers

Natalie Arch

Hi! I’m Natalie, I’m a junior at Rowan. I started out as a journalism major at Atlantic Cape Community College and transferred here after two years. I’m from Cape May County and have a passion for writing as well as music and art. My goal is to become a broadcast journalist or to write for a magazine such as Rolling Stone. I can’t wait to share my writing with Rowan University!

Leah Gallagher

I’m currently a sophomore with a major in Writing Arts and a minor in Journalism, so it’s no secret that I love to write!  This is my first year writing for The Whit and I’m very excited.  I write a lot of fiction and creative nonfiction in my spare time, but I also love listening to music, watching classic movies, performing magic tricks and taking pictures.  (The photo above is a self-portrait!)  The opportunity to write for the Arts & Entertainment section has already been a fantastic experience and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Kara Guno

I am a sophomore sports communication and media major. This is my first year with The whit, and I am super excited to join such an amazing team. I am a huge baseball and softball fan, and my favorite team is the Yankees. In my free time I love to cook, watch tv and play with my dog. In the future I hope to work for ESPN either as a broadcaster or produce my own show. I can’t wait to share my passion for sports with everyone!

Destiny Hall

My name is Destiny Hall and I’m a Senior Writing Arts and English double major with specializations in Shakespeare and Creative Writing and a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. When not writing for the Whit, I’m reading Cosmopolitan or editing Rowan’s chapter of Her Campus. I love writing for the Features section of the Whit and am forever grateful to write the Whit’s advice column, “Dear Destiny”.

Skylar Moody

I’m a senior journalism major with a minor in writing arts. I’ve been writing on and off for the Whit since my sophomore year, mainly for the A&E section. My dream is to become a music journalist for a large entertainment publication. When I’m not writing, you can find me working in the student center at Rowan After Hours, listening to my vinyl collection, or shopping for the latest fashion trends.

Tyler Strasser

My name is Tyler Strasser, and I am currently a junior at Rowan University. I am 20 years old and my major is Sports Media and Communications, with a minor in journalism. I am an aspiring sports journalist, with a strong passion for almost all major sports.

Joel Vasquez-Jurabe

This is my first semester at Rowan University after transferring from Atlantic Cape Community College. I am a junior journalism major. I was the assistant editor for the paper at ACCC and I’m so excited to be part of The Whit. My short-term goal is to stop asking people for directions around campus. My long-term goal is to be T.V. reporter. Hopefully one of these come true!
