Meet the Staff

Editor-in-Chief, Joe Gramigna: editor@thewhitonline.com

I’m a senior writing arts major with a minor in journalism. This is my third year working for The Whit, and I’ve really enjoyed growing as a writer, journalist and human being during my time at this paper. Whether it’s interviewing interesting characters across campus, overseeing staff meetings or coordinating events with writers, I love staying busy and on-the-move.

I am a senior public relations major with a journalism minor. I’m excited to be on The Whit team this year as managing editor. I take great pride in breaking the “Jersey girls can’t pump gas” stereotype and I probably consume an unhealthy amount of coffee each day.

News/Graphics Editor, Amanda Palmanews@thewhitonline.com, graphics@thewhitonline.com

I am a senior double majoring in journalism and public relations with a minor in advertising. I have a pet rabbit named Mimi, and a dog named Snoopy. I have two brothers as well who are the same age as me- we’re triplets! My favorite show is Parks and Rec because I love Ron Swanson.

Arts and Entertainment Editor, Tara Lonsdorf: arts@thewhitonline.com

I am a sophomore geology major, with minors in both Geographic Information Science and technical writing. I hope to use my education both in the classroom and on-staff at The Whit to pursue a career in science journalism and combat public misconceptions about climate change. When I’m not avoiding emails, you can usually find me mentoring first-year Honors students, making a mess of the fossil lab, or drawing unfunny comic strips which contemplate whether or not Pop-Tarts are actually sandwiches. (They are.)

Features Editor, Sydney Kerelo: features@thewhitonline.com

I am a senior journalism major and English minor in hopes of working within the publishing industry. I am the Features for The Whit, loving every aspect of the industry while also becoming more involved at Rowan. I am obsessed with antique bookstores, quaint cofee shops and yes, I am that weirdo who thinks that books pages are the best smell in the world.

Sports Editor, Jaiden Campana: sports@thewhitonline.com

I’m a senior journalism major who landed a sweet gig at the Philly Inquirer for an internship. My specialties include: one-pound burrito eating, catching any camera no matter what the situation, and crying during Jets games. Welcome to my life.

Multimedia Editor, Miguel Martinez: pics@thewhitonline.com

I am a Radio/TV/Film major with a minor in Journalism and Advertising. I have been with the Whit for over a year and can’t wait to continue telling Rowan community stories through our paper. I love telling others story through photos and video. Oh, and I am also Dominican.

Multimedia Editor, Jaryd Leadyphoto@thewhitonline.com

I’m currently a senior Broadcast Journalism major here at Rowan. I have interned with Fox29 news and now work there part time as a production assistant. As the Multimedia Editor this year I’m very excited to produce new content that we haven’t done in the past. Also about me personally, I like sports, anything Parks and Rec, and being outdoors.
