Two new schools have recently joined Rowan’s Professional Development School (PDS) Network, a Rowan Today article announced last week.
Glassboro School District’s J. Harvey Rodgers School is now the first early childhood education center to join the network. West Deptford Middle School is the first middle school to join, the article said.
Rowan’s PDS Network allows professors to work with classroom teachers to improve educational outcomes for students enrolled in school.
Rowan professors serve as professors “in-residence” at participating schools. With school leadership, they work on professional development and research activities that help the educational goals of the schools.
“The goal of the PDS Network is a simple one: Working together, as one to improve educational outcomes for children,” said College of Education Dean Monika Shealey to Rowan Today. “Together, we are working to ensure positive outcomes for all learners, particularly those who have been traditionally underserved.”
Rowan Education Professor Gina Heller will join the Rodgers School as a professor in residence and Natoya Coleman will work in West Deptford.
Glassboro has two other PDS participating schools. West Depford’s Middle School is the first to join the network.
