Students will be dressed to impress this year for the Student University Programmer’s (SUP) 13th annual Winter Ball in the Chamberlain Student Center’s Eynon Ballroom on Feb. 17.
If you were a fan of the movie “La La Land” then you will love this year’s theme for the dance. The idea was drawn from the jazz aspects featured in the movie. The ballroom will be decked out as students come dressed in their finest wear and dance the night away.
“Our theme this year is ‘City of Stars’ which is along the lines of a jazz age Hollywood night under the stars theme,” said SUP’s Director of Special Events, Maddie Elliot.
Students will have the opportunity to experience old-fashioned jazz as they dance and eat all night. Beginning at 7:00 p.m., the cocktail hour will be followed by a semi-formal dinner and dancing featuring a DJ for your dancing pleasure.
“I think students will really enjoy the ball. It’s a great night to hang out with friends and have fun,” Elliot said. “I’m personally looking forward to seeing how people dress up in relation to the theme.”
Take a trip back to the timely, sophistication of jazz age Hollywood and dance the night away at this year’s winter ball coming Feb. 17.
Tickets for the winter ball went on sale Jan. 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Student Center Information Desk for $15 each.
Students can purchase up to two tickets with one ID, but if a guest wants to come they must provide a valid ID showing that they are 18 years or older.
