Rowan MMA Club hosts their annual women’s self-defense night

The Rowan MMA club celebrated Women’s History Month with their seventh annual women’s self-defense night on March 11 in the Rec Center.

The club collaborated with Theta Psi to help bring more awareness to the importance of self-defense.

Rowan MMA club president, Spencer Jordan explained how the real world is a dangerous place.

“ It’s really important for people to just be aware that it’s a dangerous world,” said Jordan. “Anything can happen and there’s a lot of different ways to approach self-defense. There’s a lot of different aspects to break it down and you need to be prepared for the world out there.”

Gavin Wheeler, the risk manager of the Rowan MMA club is teaching two women how to escape out of certain positions.
