After a high-scoring Week 8 in the NFL, “Shop or Drop with Rob” is back, giving you advice on who to pick up and drop every week in your fantasy football league.
Waiver Wire additions
Justin Fields – QB – Chicago Bears – 41% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
Although losing to the Dallas Cowboys this past Sunday, Oct. 30, Justin Fields had himself a nice performance. The second year quarterback threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another.
As many know, Fields is dangerous when he has the opportunity to use his legs, racking up 142 rushing yards over the past two weeks. As we have seen through Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts, a mobile quarterback is fantasy football gold. Chicago’s offense has started to find their stride, putting Fields’ in a great position to excel as a quarterback in this league.
Khalil Herbert – RB – Chicago Bears – 64% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
The Chicago Bears have clearly been a run first offense all year. On the depth chart, Khalil Herbert is considered the second string back behind David Montgomery. However, for the third straight week, Herbert has outrushed Montgomery.
The second year back had 16 carries, 99 rushing yards, and a touchdown in the contest this past Sunday against Dallas. Look for Herbert to gain more opportunities as he proves that he should be the lead back in this offense.
Kenyan Drake – RB – Baltimore Ravens – 31% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
The Ravens backfield has been a committee style for the whole year thus far, it is now Kenyan Drake’s turn to take over.
J.K. Dobbins will be sidelined for another month, and Gus Edwards left the contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to a hamstring injury. In Edwards’ absence, Drake rushed for 62 yards and caught a touchdown pass. If Edwards isn’t good to go next week, look for Drake to get a majority of the reps against the New Orleans Saints on Monday night.
Evan Engram – TE – Jacksonville Jaguars – 43% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
Evan Engram is slowly but surely finding his role in this Jaguars offense. While playing across the pond this past Sunday, the veteran tight end reeled in four balls for 55 yards and a touchdown. Engram has had over six targets in the past four weeks, proving that he is getting the opportunities to shine moving forward.
Kyren Williams – RB – Los Angeles Rams – 45% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
The Los Angeles Rams drafted Kyren Williams in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, but the rookie back has been on the injured reserve list all season. He is set to make his return around Week 10.
Head coach Sean McVay is not a fan of Darrell Henderson, as he was out-rushed by an undrafted rookie this past Sunday. Once Williams is activated off the IR, look for him to get thrown right into an RB1 role.
Terrace Marshall – WR – Carolina Panthers – 1% rostered via Yahoo! Sports
After Robbie Anderson was traded to Arizona last week, Terrace Marshall jumped into the No. 2 wide receiver spot.
The LSU product had four catches for 87 yards in a thriller versus the Atlanta Falcons. Quarterback PJ Walker has looked like a quality starter thus far, meaning Marshall may receive the targets that he deserves.
Players to drop
Brian Robinson Jr. – RB – Washington Commanders
Half back Brian Robinson only had eight rushing attempts for 20 yards in the win against the Indianapolis Colts. The rookie is a touchdown dependent fantasy player who unfortunately has not seen many opportunities to score.
Darrell Henderson Jr. – RB – Los Angeles Rams
For some odd reason, the Rams do not want Henderson involved in their offensive plans moving forward. After only receiving four rushing attempts for 16 yards, undrafted rookie running back Ronnie Rivers out-rushed Henderson in the contest against the San Francisco 49ers. In addition, Kyren Williams is coming back in the next few weeks, meaning Henderson will likely drop down on the depth chart
Robert Woods – WR – Tennessee Titans
Robert Woods has had an underwhelming year in his first season with the Titans. The veteran receiver has been held to under ten fantasy points in his last three games. The Titans will most likely rely on Derrick Henry’s rushing ability to win, meaning Woods will not be much of a factor moving forward.
If you see some of these guys on your waiver wire, try and scoop them up. Although some players may not have a spot on your starting roster at the moment, injuries are bound to happen. When everyone else in your league is scrambling around looking for replacements, you’ll remember that you read “Shop or Drop with Rob,” and reinforcements are already sitting on your bench.
