To celebrate the opening of the new Chick-fil-A in Glassboro, the community was invited to dress up in their best cow attire to earn their opening day promo, “Cows Eat Free.”
On Thursday, Feb. 12, a new Chick-fil-A opened in Glassboro on Delsea Drive, where they were giving out free meals to those who dressed up in black and white, had cow-spotted accessories, or even a full cow suit. Guests of all ages were able to join in on this event, being able to redeem either one free entree or a kids’ meal.
We’re trying to invite our community to try Chick-fil-A if it’s their first time … Even if you just have a spot or an accessory, anything goes; you could even have a black and white shirt. Chick-fil-A’s on us,” said Krystal Maldonado, director of operations.
Customers were in cow outfits of all kinds, whether it was simply wearing black and white, having masks made from a plate with a cow’s face on it, or even cutting out spots to put on white shirts to make the cow print. Many kids had paper headbands that had cow print drawn onto them with paper ears attached to them.
“Well, we were excited that they were opening a new Chick-fil-A in Glassboro, so we definitely wanted to come check it out, and having a promo made it easier,” said Rebekah Bailey, a customer who came to the Chick-fil-A opening and participated in the promo event.
Many families came out with their kids on opening day, making the promo a great event where parents could easily feed their children without having to worry about spending too much money. Not only were parents able to feed their families, but they were also able to get their own meals for free.
“It’s actually been going really well. Our customers have been coming in here, and they have actually been liking it. Everybody loves getting their free meals … We also have our own mascot here as well, so he’s going around,” said Tamia Price, an employee at the new Glassboro Chick-fil-A.
A promo such as this one reflects the mission that Chick-fil-A has when it comes to caring for the community. To celebrate the opening, a $25,000 donation was made out to Feeding America from Chick-fil-A, where the funds will be distributed to several partners in the South Jersey region to help the fight against hunger. Chick-fil-A even has its own Chick-fil-A Shared Table Program, redirecting surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create over 42 million meals nationwide.
Chick-fil-A is known for its welcoming environment to the community, created for people to be able to come together, so a promo like this one is no surprise when it comes to the fast food chain. The offer not only brings people together but also makes breakfast, lunch, and dinner a little easier for those who participate.
