No. 3 nationally ranked Rowan captured their 11th NJAC Indoor Championship on Friday in the Ott Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Rowan totaled 265 points, with second-place The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) capturing 152. 

“Everybody buys in,” head coach Dustin Dimit said. “It’s a family-like atmosphere, that’s what we love here, the team is bigger than each person.”

Sophomore Rajahn Dixon won the 200-meter with a 21.15-second time, which moved him to No. 2 in Division III this season and ranks as the fifth-fastest time in Division III history.

Dixon has been trying to improve on his turnover. 

“I got hurt earlier in the season, so I wasn’t as controlled as I normally am,” Dixon said. “I felt kind of out of control, and that bank is a pretty aggressive bank.” 

Dixon, along with juniors Dallas Hohney and Teddy Wilson, and freshman Marquise Taylor, also took part in the 4×400 relay, winning the event with a 3:17.61 time. 

“I would just say it was God and just the great work that [Norm] Tate has us do,” Dixon said. 

Hohney captured first place in the 800 meters, with a time of 1:51.60, and was able to edge out Wilson by just 0.20 seconds. Both times were fast enough to set the new school record. 

“The 800 mindset you gotta have, you gotta really dig deep for it,” Hohney said. “The pain is really gonna be hitting hard, you really gotta find it.” 

Rowan will be traveling to the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field (AARTFC) Regional Championships on March 7 and 8, back at the Ott Center.
