Nick Struble is one of Rowan’s top baseball players for the past four years and one who shows people that being a student-athlete is all about balance.
As he heads into his fourth and final season with Rowan University, he has been recognized as a Rowan Scholar-Athlete of distinction for the past three seasons. Struble was also named to the NJAC All-Academic Second team in the 2025 season.
“It was great to be recognized for something like that,” said Struble. “I always prioritize academics, and then to be able to be recognized for both my athletics and academics at the same time was very special for me.”
Struble has been playing baseball since he was young enough to walk and played all through his high school years. During his high school career he had a .452 batting average with 72 hits, 41 RBI and 51 runs in 47 career games and in 2022 was named Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference All-Academic Team honoree.
At Rowan, Struble plays infield, assisting anywhere he is needed on the field, and is a power hitter who went a combined 4 for 6 last season with a total of three RBI’s. As a student athlete, it can be hard to be so great at the sport he is playing and to be the best student he can be, but he proves each season that he is more than capable of doing that.
“It’s tough to balance, when you have to always be studying because you know at the end of the week you have baseball. It’s all about time management and never just sitting around but always doing something with your time,” said Struble on how he manages being the best athlete and student he can for the people that rely on him.
As Struble prepares for his last season, he has reflected on what the last four years have done for him and what he would like to see for his team this season. In the past three seasons, Struble has played an integral role in getting the Rowan Baseball team to the World Series and becoming the champions of their conference.
“I want a World Series appearance my last season,” said Struble. “I am going to take this season game by game and day by day, but ultimately I would like a repeat world series win because that is what has become the standard here during my time on the team.”
The Rowan Baseball team will start its season in only a few short weeks, and the conclusion of Nick Struble’s baseball career is coming quickly. Through his last season, he will remain a dedicated player and make the best of his four years as a prof.
