According to a statement from the Glassboro Police Department’s Facebook page, several arrests were made after a fight involving 25 people broke out at a home on Lehigh Road. A previous altercation between residents of the home and another group of individuals led to the recent brawl.
The statement notes that one of the parties involved broke down several doors to the home, intending to continue the fight. The altercation continued outside, and several individuals were seen fleeing the scene as police arrived. David Hall was one of the attackers involved and was found lying injured in the driveway by police. He refused hospital transport and was then arrested, and taken to Salem County jail.
Several of those arrested were Rowan students, including the following: David Hall, charged with assault, burglary, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and related offenses; Ryan Swenson, charged with assault, burglary, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and related offenses; Anthony Morisi, charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing; and Kyle Pierce, charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing.
Assistant Vice President for Civic Involvement Joe Mulligan spoke about the students’ potential standing at Rowan following their charges.
“If somebody is identified in an incident as a Rowan student, whether it’s on campus or off campus, the university is informed of it,” Mulligan said. “We decide whether or not it would be something we would take action with under the student code of conduct. It’s still an ongoing criminal police investigation, but once we get that information we’ll look at the levels of involvement students were in, the criminal charges, and make decisions about appropriate adjudication.
