Adéla Jergová, a Slovak singer-songwriter, could potentially be the next big pop star rising to fame.
In 2023, Adéla was a contestant on the survival show “The Debut: Dream Academy”, which was shown in the Netflix series “Pop Star Academy.” She was a trainee for K-pop group Katseye, but was eliminated in September of the same year. However, she was a very popular competitor known for her strong talent and presence on stage.
The show’s producers often created a narrative to portray Adéla as the “villain” for her honest and direct feedback that she shared in the show. Adéla herself argued that the show was heavily edited to portray her as the “mean girl” to which she addressed in her single “MACHINEGIRL”. A specific controversial moment in the show occurred when another contestant named Manon said that Adéla “only gets by because she’s pretty.” Fans and critics of the show often came to her defense, feeling that she was treated unfairly during the competition.
Fortunately, her solo career has proven to be quite successful, releasing her debut single “HOMEWRECKED” in 2024 as well as her first EP, “The Provocateur” more recently in August 2025. Many of her songs often reflect her experiences in the music industry and the pressures that come with it, as well as her background as a dancer, as she pursued ballet before becoming a musician. Her music has a powerful electropop sound, often being able to hear influences of iconic pop stars like Lady Gaga.
Many of her fans have shared the same opinions regarding her solo career, believing that getting eliminated from “Pop Star Academy” was probably the best thing to happen to her. Taking one look at videos of her performances as well as her music videos, you can tell that she was born to be a solo artist. Adéla has way too much star power and stage presence that would overpower if she were put into a group with others.
One of her most popular songs, “SUPERSCAR,” coming from her most recent EP, is a must-listen. The music video is even better, with amazing choreography performed by both her and the background dancers present in the video. In her videos and on-stage performances, it is blatantly obvious that Adéla is hungry and serious about her life as a musician. It can be hard to find musicians who are passionate about their craft nowadays, but there is no question that she is putting in the work and effort into the art she creates.
She is bringing an over-the-top, bold, and electric sound to the pop industry while remaining truly authentic to herself, paving the way for a new generation of pop musicians and music. She went on The Provoca Tour in early October, which was her first tour where she brought high-energy performances to the stage every night. Now, she has just announced that she will be touring with Demi Lovato next year at the beginning of April on Lovato’s It’s Not That Deep tour. Be sure to keep an eye out for Adéla, because she might just be the next big thing coming into the pop music scene.
