Around 1:30 p.m. this afternoon, Route 322 was briefly closed off by the Glassboro Fire Department and Rowan University officials.
Authorities on the scene reported that there had been a small vehicle fire in the proximity of Savitz Hall. According to a Rowan security guard who was nearby the scene, the incident occurred after a pickup truck’s right front tire broke off and caused the vehicle to catch fire. The fire was quickly put out, and officials left the scene around 1:50 p.m. It is currently unknown what the make and model of the vehicle was or who was involved, although the security guard also confirmed that no one was harmed in the incident.
The Glassboro Fire Department was unable to provide further information to The Whit due to the incident still being “under investigation”.
