The Profs celebrated senior day on Saturday at the Oscar Moore Invitational in Glassboro on their home field.  Seniors Lexi Bey, Gianna Burgio, Gabriella Pagano, Issy Smith, and Ally Wernik were honored during the meet. 

“Being able to spend two genuine years with them and watch them develop, not just as athletes, but also as students, has definitely been something that’s been a pleasure to watch,” said head coach Shedrick Elliott III. 

Sophomore Nyla Jones set a new best time in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) in the 400-meter with a time of 1:03.02. 

“It was just ‘let’s get a starting point’ so that we could get into mixing adjustments on her rhythm for the race,” said Elliott III. 

Sophomores Paige Franklin, Amari Pinkett, and Nyla Jones, along with freshman Denirah Jones, ran a 48.06 time in the 4×100 relay for the second-best time in the NJAC. 

“We just were looking to get a starting point, it was just to get the baton around the track, and then just make some adjustments for the end of the year,” said Elliott III. 

Denirah Jones was also able to snag the long jump, with a 5.52-meter attempt. As a result of the attempt, Jones is now ranked in the top 25 in Division III. 

Rowan looks to take part in a couple of events this upcoming week. April 16 will see the Profs at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Virginia. The weekend will see Rowan at the Paul Donohue Invitational at Chester, Pennsylvania, as well as the North Carolina A&T Aggie Invitational, in Greensboro, North Carolina.
