Spring break is a significant time for college students across the nation. Many students take exciting vacations to places like Florida or Cancun, while others choose to return home and spend time with family. No matter how Rowan students decide to spend their spring break, the week provides a much-needed pause from the demands of college life.  It gives Rowan students the opportunity to step away from academics, relax, and catch up with life outside the classroom.

Ariana Hernandez, a sophomore psychology major, says she is going to Florida for spring break.

“For spring break, I’m staying at a resort in Orlando, Florida. I might go to Universal for the day,” says Hernandez.

Samantha Gudzenties, a junior biological science major, says she and her friend are spending time in her beach house in Belmar.

“My friend Ashley and I are going to her beach house in Belmar to hang out. We want to go on the ginger run in Belmar for Saint Patrick’s Day,” said Gudzenties.

Alexandra Rudaya, a freshman public relations and advertising major, says she is going home to Old Bridge for spring break.

“I’m going home to Old Bridge for spring break. Then I’m going on a hike in upstate New York for a couple of days in Lake Minnewaska with my parents,” said Rudaya.

Charlotte Russ, a sophomore environmental science major, says she is going back home to Philly for spring break.

“I’m going to be mainly working over spring break. I currently work at a nightclub called Midnight & The Wicked,” said Russ.

Hope Ibraham, a freshman public health major, says she is going home to East Brunswick for spring break.

“For spring break, I’m mainly going to be working at the Fields Sports Complex,” said Ibraham.

Aylecia Cunegin, a freshman undecided major, says she is staying on campus for spring break.

“I’m mainly going to be staying on campus and working at Raising Cane’s over spring break,” said Cunegin. 

Tarsha Kisey, a freshman biological science major, says she’s going home to North Brunswick for spring break and spending time with family.

Sarah Forance, a sophomore computer science major, says she’s going home for spring break.

“For spring break, I’m going home to Springfield, Pennsylvania [and] working at Chickie’s & Pete’s,” said Forance. 

Jaelan Fernadez, a sophomore finance major, plans to spend time with her family for spring break.

“I’m also going to hang out with my friends, especially Ange, over spring break,” said Fernandez.

Angelina Georgakopoulos, a sophomore radio, television, & film major, says she will be mainly hanging out with her friends and family.

“Besides hanging out with my friends and family, I will also be hanging out with my cat Ivy,” says Georgakopoulos.

Whether students are going on vacation or going home, spring break is a memorable time students can use to rest and reset.
