“Hollybash” is an annual excuse for the entire university to unify in celebrating the end of another school year. Exclusively enjoyed by our Rowan community, the famous “Hollybash” is an all day affair of music, food, henna booths, lawn games, and memories made. It is a tradition students look forward to every Spring semester and a landmark that summer is on its way. The highlight of the day is, without a doubt, the celebrity musical guest at the end of the night. In the weeks leading up to it, students squirm in suspense regarding who the main event will be, buzzing their conspiracy theories around campus.
“I asked Chat GPT who’s most likely to perform at Rowan Hollybash and it said NLE Choppa” said junior Nyla Franks.
Sophomore Joey Viespoli is going another route.
“I think it’s gonna be Ice Spice. I just think it fits the reputation at Rowan University” he said.
Keeping in theme with Viespoli’s guess is the prediction of an artist from one of Ice Spice’s most famous collabs, “Boy’s a Liar, Pt. 2. “I think it’s gonna be Pink Pantheress. She’s kinda fallen off a little bit but I feel like she has those hits that Rowan might like” said sophomore Kayleigh McClafferty.
With admissions on the rise and a renovated library and student center, students are left to wonder what our university might be able to afford this year. Is “Hollybash” next on the list for a revamp?
“I feel like he’d be down for a good time. He could budget with us. He could figure something out” sophomore Emily Fraser said about the possibility of Mr. Worldwide paying the Boro a visit.
Two recurring prospects were Lil Uzi Vert and Fetty Wap with others hoping for stars like Katy Perry, Kanye West, and Ariana Grande. It seems that students would like to see a rapper take the stage soon.
Besides rap, there were more country artists mentioned than one might expect, with junior Lily Bataloni saying “I would absolutely love if Megan Moroney came. She’s such a queen and she’s big, for sure now, but kind of in the middle…so there’s a possibility”.
Similarly, students rattled off names like Zach Bryan, Luke Bryan, and even Morgan Wallen.
It’s safe to say that people are dedicating some time to brainstorming who the mystery performer could be along with a reasonable justfiication of why. Everyone takes a different approach to formulating their hypothesis, with some students recalling who other local universities have hosted recently, while others are searching for hints on university Instagram pages. An important step in assessing the possibilities is analyzing the history.
So far, “Hollybash” has boasted acts such as Mike Posner, Andy Grammar, KYLE, Noah Cyrus, Tai Verdes, and Tori Kelly. Coming off of Hollybash 2025’s DJ Pauly D, 2026 has big shoes to fill. Not to mention, “Hollybash” is turning 10 this year, which means extra festivities are in store.
Everyone is anxiously awaiting the grand reveal on Friday, April 10, just two weeks before it all goes down. Whoever they have booked, April 24 promises to be a special day and a guaranteed good time.
